ViniVeri 2018 – Press release

CEREA (VR) 2018 APRIL 13th-15th

Fifteen years for ViniVeri 2018-Wines according to Nature. The first historic Italian event of wines and foodstuffs obtained from natural processes, organized by Consortium Viniveri, will take place from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th April at the “AreaExp” La Fabbrica, in the heart of the town of Cerea, just a few kilometers from Verona.
“Love for nature and its cycles” as the theme of the 15th edition that brings together hundreds of Italian and European producers. And in addition to the exhibition area, guided tastings, two dinners with renowned chefs, as well as a conference with illustrious testimonies, comparisons and interventions between winemakers on the state of health of wine and transparent label, to take stock of today’s situation so-called “natural” wine and a balance of these first decades of wines produced according to nature. Finally, a precious wine shop reserved for visitors to purchase at a cellar price.
An intense three days of immersion in a world – that of wine produced with respect for the rhythms and resources of the earth – all to be explored and known

The love for nature and its cycles is the theme of the 15th edition of ViniVeri 2018. Love as an art of knowing how to wait, as “certainty that nature never betrays” – says the President of ViniVeri Giampiero Bea – respecting the rhythms and natural resources. Love, in an era of standardization and homologation, for the fruits of a sustainable agriculture that preserves and enhances the richness and uniqueness of the territories and their biodiversity.
Love, nature, passion, environment, respect, sustainability, identity: values shared by the group of winemakers-craftsmen who have given the name of “ViniVeri”. Wandering through Europe first, then joining the early 2000s through “la Regola” (a sort of regulation that establishes the operations possible and not, both in the vineyard and in the cellar), ViniVeri represents the first nucleus of winegrowers that has intended to make known the “natural viticulture”, excluding any type of synthetic chemistry in the vineyard and any substance allowed for oenological use in the cellar, undermining convictions and entrenched conventions.
Fifteen years from the first official release as “ViniVeri group”, which have marked and changed the world of wine. With a practical philosophy that is also a way of life.
A way that the Consortium ViniVeri continues with conviction to pursue the days of fashions and trends. Putting the winegrowers, the vineyard, the winery, the respect of natural cycles, the protection of the environment, the identity of the territory, the eco-sustainable production at the center, combining everything in a work of custody and love to obtain wines of unique, pleasant and unrepeatable qualities, witnesses to their field.
“ViniVeri2018” in Cerea (VR) from 13 to 15 April 2018, is the annual occasion – open to operators and all wine lovers – to meet, get to know and deal with “Winegrowers of identity who constantly seek the best balance between man’s action and the cycles of nature “, as President Bea loves to call them,” which in fact represent a philosophy of life “.
Present in the three days of ViniVeri 2018, from 10 am to 6 pm, together with the producers of the Consortium Viniveri (Giuseppe Rinaldi, Ezio Cerruti, Ezio Giacomo Trinchero, Serafino Rivella, Eugenio Rosi, Casa Coste Piane, Castello di Lispida, La Castellada, Dario Princic, Zidarich, Vodopivec, Ronco Severo, Mlečnik, Slavček, Old Massa, Podere Luisa, Carla Simonetti, Walter Mattoni, Oasis of the Angels, Paolo Bea, Praesidium, PaneVino, Salvatore Ferrandes), over a hundred winemakers produced without addition of substances authorized for oenological use “(with the exception of modest doses of sulfites), Italian and foreign, from France, Spain, Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal and Greece.

To unite them the passion and the sharing of a productive philosophy that goes beyond the European organic certification: that of generating wine without pesticides, without the use of synthetic chemistry in the vineyard and without the use of forced additions and stabilizations in the cellar. Wines that do not contain additions of substances unrelated to the fruit of origin and the terroir that generated them, nor made through dominant processes.

The wineries present at ViniVeri 2018, have in fact all self-certified, under their own responsibility, to follow the dictates of the “Regola”  of the Consortium Viniveri: environmentally friendly and biodiversity, natural and sustainable. And all their wines have undergone a rigorous evaluation completed with a tasting panel before being considered suitable and therefore invited to participate.
Also this year, over a hundred new requests for participation, just fifteen new cellars have been qualified.
In addition to the wines, there will also be space for artisanal food production: from eco-sustainable chocolate cheeses, from cured meats to baked goods.
The fifteenth edition will be enhanced by many initiatives such as guided tastings, dinners with renowned chefs and speeches on health, identity and recognition of the authenticity of wine, up to one of the workhorses of Consorzio Viniveri, that of transparent wine label.

The events

Friday, April 13th at 18.30 will be held at the conference room of the Area Exp “La Fabbrica” the conference-debate for a comparison and a balance of these first 15 years of wines produced according to nature. The opening of the meeting includes the testimony of Josko Gravner and follow the reflections of Sergio Circella of the renowned restaurant “La Brinca di Né (GE), of Sergio Rossi of the historic” Enoteca Caffè Defilla “of Chiavari (GE) and a well-known Sommelier.
There will also be the voices of representatives of Italian and European producers’ associations to take stock of today’s wine situation according to nature, where we have moved from the initial pioneering phase to the current tumultuous block of proposals, sometimes improvised and instrumental. , on the wave of greater “critical” consumer awareness.
The restaurant area of the Area Exp “La Fabbrica” will host two important gastronomic events: Friday 13 the kitchen of “VinVeri” will star Ivan Milani, the new talented chef of “Al Pont De Ferr” by Maida Mercuri. The Turin-based chef, who recently joined the renowned restaurant on the Naviglio Grande in Milan, will present a dinner with some of his most representative dishes, such as the typical ‘Vitello tonnato’ and ‘Il tempo delle oro d’oro’. Next, ‘Risotto with smoked herring, powdered capers and coffee’, ‘Iberian pork cheek’ and a dessert created with burnt wheat and goat cheese mousse, mozzarella and horseradish.
For dinner on Saturday 14, space for creativity and typical Friulian chef Ilija Pejic of “Ilija Ristorante” of Tarvisio (UD). Croatian by birth but Italian by adoption, the chef – after important experiences in Spain – since 2007 has been driving the restaurant opened at the Golf Club of Tarvisio, in the splendid Priesnig plain, a natural setting of rare beauty. Naturalness, seasonality and refinement mark the menus created by the chef.
In both evenings, to the chef’s proposals, the important wine selections of the “ViniVeri” winemakers will be paired.

The highly sought-after Enoteca ViniVeri is back again this year: the showcase-shop placed at the exit of the exhibition spaces, where it will be possible to buy at the price of the winery, only during the three days of the event, many of the rare selected ViniVeri labels.
